The ABC Harley-Davidson MotorClothes® Department has teamed up to answer your most Frequently Asked Questions!

1. How do I clean my Harley-Davidson® Leather Jacket?

After a ride, wipe down your jacket with our H-D® leather care wipes. This cleaning product will serve your wear most effectively. Depending on how much you wear your jacket rub a good amount of leather conditioner on and buff it off carefully. Don’t forget to top off your look with some black creme polish to give it that extra shine. Side Note: Take warm water and mild soap to help remove any extra debris that might be stuck on your leather!

2. How do I properly take care of my Harley-Davidson® Helmet?

Store your helmet out of the sun in a tote or carrying bag that allows ventilation so it can dry between uses. Many riders throw in a fabric softener sheet to keep it smelling fresh between uses. DON’T use solvents or chemicals to clean any part of the helmet, it can destroy protective coatings and the structural integrity of the helmet. Lastly your Harley-Davidson helmet can be cleaned with a soft towel and some mild soap. After cleaning allow your helmet to air dry. You can easily restore its luster and shine with any application of a light way protector (like Pledge). REMEMBER: Replace your helmet every 3 to 5 years for safety reasons!

3. Do H-D® Leather Chaps Need to Be Tailored?

The simple answer to this question is no…they don’t. Leather is not a man made material it will not fray. Harley-Davidson® Chaps are made so that there is no hem at the bottom, just in case they need to be cut and customized to your liking.

4. What Type of Warranty do we receive if when purchasing something from ABC Harley-Davidson’s MotorClothes® Department?
